You miss your dad so much. We all do. And I can’t find the words to tell you how proud he would be of the young woman that is unfolding before our eyes. Suffice to say, he would be very, very proud.
You are loved.
This is The Man’s best friend, and my dear friend of 23 years, Bryan. He passed away after a heart attack last Saturday at the painfully young age of 41. To say that he will be sorely missed is a gross understatement. He was a good man, a talented man, a funny man. He was a father, husband, son, brother, and a friend so close to our hearts that half the time he and The Man simply referred to each other as “brother.”
To say that he touched many lives is also an understatement – it took a full hour and a half past the scheduled 2-hour visitation at the funeral home last night for the line of mourners to finish filing past his casket to pay their respects. He was that kind of guy.
This morning we’re supposed to say goodbye, but I can’t imagine life without him in the picture…

Thank God It’s Thursday, that is.
I have Thursdays off now and I’m really enjoying it. I’m finding that I like tooling around doing my thing during the day when everyone else is at work. The neighborhood is quiet, the touristy places around town are quiet, the parks are quiet, and the stores are quiet. It’s all good.
After purchasing a new metal-tined rake (and then discovering upon my return home that I already replaced my broken metal rake last season) I headed back over to Aman Park to take an “after” photo of the bush with the bright buds pictured HERE. Then I topped off my day by going to see the sneak-peek of IRON MAN with The Man and three of our geekiest friends. You know who you are.
The movie was wonderful and it instantly became one of my favorite super hero movies.
I was a bit weirded out when I first heard last year that Robert Downey Jr. would be playing the lead role as Tony Stark / Iron Man but I should have known better. He’s an excellent actor working with an excellent script and a good director and the result is well worth the $8.50 to see on the big screen (unlike, say, the last X-MEN movie).
If super hero movies are your thing then definitely make the effort to see this in the theater.
So this one time back in the day The Man and I went to a GRAMUG meeting and there was this guy there who was so like, FULL OF ENERGY and he was there to talk about iChat and chatting software and I was like, totally blown away by the stuff he demonstrated with iChat but I totally didn’t get a chance to tell him at the meeting so I like stalked him and chatted him afterward and I was like “WOW, man, you blew me away with your Chat Wisdom!” and he was like “Ooo! A FAN!” and we’ve been good friends ever since.
